The Kickstarter quickly met its main goal, but it needs help picking up steam (*cough* stretch goals *cough*) if we're ever to get all those nice bonus features we'd all like. In this thread, I'd like us to list the news sites that still need to cover the Kickstarter campaign as well as suggestions for helping to spread the word. The onus falls on AnimEigo to get those sites to cover the story, but individuals can also tip the various sites and try to encourage them as well.

Media sites that haven't covered the Kickstarter
Please suggest more sites and I'll add them to the list.

Here's a few more:

Indeed, I went around different sites and people are wondering when the first stretch goal is going to be added and should they add their pledge/up their existing one.
Keep the momentum going. How about ~100k for the first stretch? Should cost peanuts.

Here is the current press release if people want to send it around...

PRESS RELEASE: Bubblegum Crisis KickStarter reaches goal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BUBBLEGUM CRISIS ULTIMATE EDITION BLU-RAY SET KICKSTARTER REACHES GOAL LESS THAN 4 DAYS
Provides backers with opportunity to "CrowdProduce" final product

WILMINGTON, NC - November 4, 2013 - AnimEigo is pleased to announce that the Bubblegum Crisis Ultimate Edition Blu-Ray Set KickStarter campaign reached its $75,000 goal in less than 96 hours, and is now approaching the $100k mark.

The Kickstarter funds a special limited-edition 2 BD50 set of the classic Japanese Anime Sci-Fi miniseries, which will contain all 8 episodes, in English and Japanese with English and French Subtitles. Also included are all the animated and live-action music videos, an online data archive of production notes, interviews, and high-resolution graphics, a custom challenge coin, and postcards -- all for $50.

Unlike most KickStarters, this one has no stretch goals. Instead, AnimEigo is experimenting with "CrowdProduction" -- a full 50% of the amount raised goes into the production budget, and the backers themselves will be able to propose ways to use the excess budget to improve the set. AnimEigo will cost out the proposals, and the backers will vote to decide what gets included!

The set will not be region-coded, and is available to backers world-wide (except Japan, China and Taiwan). Estimated shipment date is August 2014. The KickStarter campaign ends on Sunday, November 24th.

ABOUT BUBBLEGUM CRISIS:

Bubblegum Crisis was one of the first titles AnimEigo released over 20 years ago. This classic 8-episode OVA series was created by a who's-who of the Anime world, featuring character designs by Kenichi Sonoda (Riding Bean, Gunsmith Cats, Gall Force), production design by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed, Full Metal Alchemist, Space Pirate Captain Harlock (2013)), direction by Katsuhito Akiyama (Armitage III), Masami Oobari (Detonator Orgun), Fumihiko Takayama (Patlabor III), Jun Okada, Hiroaki Gooda (Oh My Goddess!), music by Kooji Makaino (Oh My Goddess!), and mechanical designs by Sonoda, Aramaki and Hideki Kakinuma (Detonator Orgun).

ABOUT ANIMEIGO:

Established in 1989, AnimEigo, Inc. was one of the first companies to release Anime in the United States and Canada, as well as one of the first companies to release significant numbers of high-quality Japanese live-action films. Over the last quarter-century, the company has consistently broadened the market for Japanese films by finding audiences for entire new genres of films.

Renowned for the quality of its translations, subtitles, and dubbing, AnimEigo have released many classic anime titles, including “Bubblegum Crisis”, “Urusei Yatsura”, “Kimagure Orange Road”, “Macross” and “Oh My Goddess!”.

AnimEigo is a private company located at Wilmington, North Carolina, USA.

I agree with slerch about the podcasts:
ANNCast (AnimeNewsNetwork has been making a few notes about it, but many people listen to the podcast and don't read the site)
Rightstuf's podcast (Anime Today Podcast)

As for MyAnimeList, try tweeting them at @myanimelist

More suggestions:
J-List (www.jlist.com; Regular FaceBook updates, Almost daily e-mail newsletters)
4chan (4chan.org; https://www.4chan.org/advertise?selfserve&faq ; https://www.4chan.org/advertise ; You can target specific boards (In this case, /a/, /m/, & /jp/ would be good targets); BUT . . . costs start at $20)

Good going so far, Robert! Hope he rest of us can help push some of those sites over the edge.

I emailed Kotaku and io9, PMed a staff member at Hi-Def Digest, submitted tips at Blu-ray.com and Asian Blu-ray Guide, and PMed the site admin at AnimeVice. For several of those sites, you need to just register and then PM an admin or staff member. MyAnimeList makes you wait 3 days after joining before PMing an admin; hopefully someone who is already a member can get them to cover the campaign.

I'd be wary about 4chan, given their community pretty regularly berates Kickstarter projects, calling them "****starters" (replace "****" with a common slur for those of the Jewish faith).
At any rate, I've posted this up on Anime Herald. I'll filter it through our social media accounts this evening. - http://www.animeherald.com/pressrelease/bubblegum-crisis-kickstarter-hits-goal-4-days/

And there's this about channers, too....
This podcast and this would have made a nice update on the Kickstarter. Also, a some kind of contest (fanart?) would be a nice way to generate extra buzz.

That's mostly only people on /v/ and some other salty people who felt they got burned on how some of the video game related ones turned out for them. /a/ had a giant sticky for the Little Witch Academia 2 kickstarter when it began and repeated threads afterward. They've had a few threads on this too, but discussions there tend to mostly focus on newer anime, so those tend to get buried. That said, they could do well though with a banner "reminder".

/m/ too, because they had a nicely sized thread about this, given that they are basically the de facto older anime board, and there are a good amount of BGC fans there.

Edit: oh god this forum's quoting system makes me want to tear my hair out

but @ComSR: about the "buyfag" thing, that's mostly just an /a/ term and it's not really derogatory as much as they love using words that sound that way to describe subsets of themselves. There are "buyfag" general threads on /a/ where they discuss figures, models, artbooks and other stuff they dropped (sometimes crazy amounts of) cash on.

Any news on this? There's still a chance.

I've submitted links for Fark, BoingBoing, Slashdot and Anime News Network. Hopefully some will be picked up. Edit: Well, ANN had a story about the stretch goals, so that's cool at least. Yay for some media mention!

I sent another news tip to Crunchyroll and ANN. Also, a local magazine retweeted the news.
